Meta-Horizons, The Future Now
The Future that Begins on May 26, 2022 at DDP
The Seoul Design Foundation is holding the exhibition “Meta Horizons: The Future Now”, the first special exhibition planned by the DDP Design Museum from May 26 to September 18, 2022.
Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), a pioneer in future architecture who also designed DDP and Refik Anadol Studio that turned Seoul Light, a public art installation, into a spectacle beyond media art were involved in the exhibition. It is intended to showcase a journey of trailblazing designers to utopia. The message of the exhibition is, “The future we always imagined has already begun and the world we know will be completely changed.” At this venue, you can be immersed in the boundless imagination of how people in different fields, as well as architects, develop innovative technologies, driven by fearless passion and bold research, and of what marvelous changes the world will go through.
The exhibition has three areas: ‘Innovation - Process & Research’, ‘Imagination – Design & Virtual’, and ‘Interaction – Technologies & Collaboration’. The joint work ‘Architecting the Metaverse’ combines the products of ZHA’s pioneering research and challenging spirit including computer digital technology, eco-friendly & sustainable architecture, AI-based design & application of VR, and Refik Aanadol’s experiences & know-how, which have together opened a new chapter in media art by taking advantage of AI in art.
We strive to look into what potential future designs provide to create a better future by collaboration, while exploring and crossing the boundaries between past & present, virtual & real, and different genres. We hope for your interest and participation in “the future that has begun”, a result of endless challenges and innovations.
